Clash of Clans 2019 Updates: 9 Things We Want Next

Clash of Clans 2019 Updates: 9 Things We Want Next is a post by Cory Gunther from Gotta Be Mobile.

The hit mobile game Clash of Clans is over six years old and it’s still going strong. Now that the Builders Base is getting stale and Town Hall 12 is taking over the game, what’s next? Well, a massive Clash of Clans Spring update is coming soon here in 2019. Here’s what to maybe expect and what we want to see next.

The developers at Supercell constantly listen to player feedback and make improvements to the game. We saw a lot of that in the March update last year, and the TH12 update was exactly what fans wanted. However, most Builder Base players have maxed out at BH8 and want something new.

Now that players have two villages, Clan Games, Clan Wars, Leagues, and special events, a lot is going on inside our villages. However, that also means there is plenty of room for exciting changes, game modes, and new features. We know an “end-game strategy” is still coming, but here are a few other things we want too. This is a Clash of Clans 2019 update roadmap and wishlist.

What’s next for Clash of Clans? More Siege Machines, Builder Hall 9, the Goblin map, Project Blue Skies, and maybe a fourth Hero. For those keeping track, Town Hall 11 arrived in December 2015, and the Town Hall 12 release on June 11th, 2018 was nearly three years later.

Before that, the last major update was around over a year ago, in May, the Builder Base. So Town Hall 12 was right on time, and now we’re waiting for more. However, a recent Reddit AMA confirmed that Town Hall 13 won’t be such a long wait, and we could see it arrive in 2019. That’s a great place for any fan to start, or check out our slideshow below.

That said, the main village is only one aspect of the game. The Builder Base is starting to mature, and Supercell could take it a bunch of different directions. Blend both villages into one, let players use both for Clan War Leagues somehow, or just keep each one separate and continue improvements. I really want Builder Base 9 with another new troop or spells of some sort.

The Town Hall 12 update was a huge step in the right direction. Simply because new troops and balance changes can only take things so far when we’ve played for 5-6 years. Siege Machines and the Electro Dragon have completely changed how I attack, putting excitement back into the game.

Supercell also made a lot of changes to lower prices, increase rewards, and help players continue to complete tasks and upgrades. And, the first Clash 2019 update will lower prices further, and introduce even more troop and building levels. It’s a never-ending cycle. Are the recent leaks what you want to see?  Would you rather see the focus on Builder Hall? Maybe our suggestions below are what you want.

Here are some potential new features or changes we want (or expect) from Clash of Clans throughout 2019, starting with the Spring update. These are changes based on what the community wants, what I want as a Town Hall 11, and a few general changes everyone can appreciate. Whether they’re to Builders Base or both villages.

Versus Battles in the Main Village

The Main village and the Builders Base are completely different. They each have pros and cons, or strengths and weaknesses. However, one thing we see often and want is versus battles in the main village. Basically, something to make it exciting again.

In Builders Base you don't lose gold or elixir from battles, and instead, battle someone head-on and whoever deals the most damage gets the loot. This way we don't lose tons of resources and don't have to worry about gold or elixir while we battle.

Wouldn't it be nice if Supercell added the same vs battles to the regular base? Would it even work? Right now you can attack people with the battle button, Clan Wars, or Clan Games. That's it, but we want one more option. Versus would be a perfect way to earn more money and practice attacks without worrying about competing. Not to mention every percentage counts, and huge bases in the home village mean these will be very tight matches.

The only potential problem is matchmaking, and ensuring these vs battles are fair. With such big bases and tons of defensive structures, finding a fair balance is likely a huge challenge for the developers.

Hey, even a 2v2 mode would be amazing, where the highest overall percentage and stars between the two groups win. The Siege Machines and a Town Hall 12 that fights back will make things interesting, but we're not sure it's enough.
